CHAIRMAN | PETER MALLINGER

 

Current Chairman of Corby Town Football Club having previously been Chairman of Kettering Town Football Club for twelve years. Previously a director and vice-chairman of Newcastle United FC. Founded Newarke Wools Limited in 1961 as a market stall business which developed into 28 retail units throughout the country generating a £6 million turnover.

MANAGING DIRECTOR | GRAHAM STARMER

 

One of the founders and directors of footballcv.com since inception in 2000. Previously Club Secretary of Kettering Town Football Club having been Sport and Leisure Services Manager at the University College Northampton for six years. Director of Burndine Sales and Services, a family business whose main activity is business and management consultancy and is also involved in property management and investment.

FOOTBALL CONSULTANT | KEVIN WILSON

 

Kevin is a former Northern Irish International footballer who played over 40 games for his country scoring 6 goals in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Having signed for his home-town team Derby County as a young professional, Kevin went on to make over 700 professional games for Ipswich Town, Chelsea, Notts County, Walsall and Northampton Town. He scored 200 career goals and was Chelsea’s Supporters Player of the Year in 1990.

Following over 15 years as a player, Kevin made the step into professional coaching and management, working for a number of teams such as Walsall, Northampton Town, Bristol Rovers, Bedford Town, Aylesbury United, Kettering Town and Hucknall Town. In the 1999/2000 season he won promotion for Northampton Town into the First Division.

Kevin is the holder of the prestigious ‘UEFA Pro Licence’ which Managers must now possess if they are to manage in the top divisions of countries such as Spain, Italy, Germany, France and England.

Kevin has also gained the UEFA ‘A’ Coaching Licence in 2000 and Certificate in Applied Management in conjunction with the League Managers Association and the Professional Footballers Association.

Kevin joined the FootballCV Academy from the beginning as Football Manager and now combines his consultancy role, to help the academy players into game, with the First Team Manager position at Conference North Ilkeston Town.

FOOTBALL CONSULTANT | ANDY SINTON

 

Andy Sinton joined the FootballCV Academy in the capacity of ‘football consultant’ in the summer of 2009.

Andy was spotted playing at school by professional football club scouts whilst also playing for boys club Cramlington Juniors. He was signed by Brentford F.C in 1985 for £25,000 and later was signed for QPR by Trevor Francis in 1989 for £350,000 and went on to play 160 league games scoring 22 goals. Andy also played for Sheffield Wednesday and Tottenham Hotspur.

Andy won 12 England caps and once gave up the chance to join Arsenal.

Andy now coaches at Fleet Town in the Ryman League and will be visiting the FootballCV Academy throughout the season to coach the players and pass on advice and experience he gained as a top-level player.

ACADEMY ADMIN MANAGER | MARTIN HARRIS

 

Martin has worked for footballcv.com for over five years as a coach but joined on a full-time basis in 2007 to aid in the development of the business.

Martin is a holder of the FA Coaching Certificate, Basic Treatmnent of Injury and has gained qualifications in SAQ. Martin started his coaching career at a local junior team managing and coaching youth teams at most age groups before moving onto work at Kettering Town FC. During his nine seasons at Kettering, he has worked with age groups from U10's up to and including the U18's. Whilst at the club he has been Assistant Development Officer, during which time he was fully responsible for the development of it's Junior teams from the U12's to the U16's. Martin then moved on to work within the backroom staff for the Senior Team at Kettering Town, working with the likes of Paul Gascoigne, Paul Davies and Ron Atkinson. In 2005 Martin flew to American and spent a period of time coaching in Chicago, Detriot, Indianapolis and Milwaukee. He too holds the Child Protection Certificate and CRB check.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT | KEVIN HARMER

 

Kevin joined the company in the Summer of 2006 following a stint as Club Secretary of a Conference Football Club. He previously attained a B.A Honours in Physical Education and Sport backed up with a Level One F.A Coaching badge, Emergency Aid Certificate, Child Protection Certificate and CRB check.

Kevin has previous experience co-ordinating numerous camps and football events and will be present at most footballcv.com events.

FINANCE MANAGER | HELEN THOMPSON

 

Helen Thompson has been a director of Rushden & Diamonds Football Club since the Supporters Trust took over the Club from R Griggs & Co Ltd. Previously Helen was Operations and Human Resources Director for two large pension companies having been in the finance industry for twenty years.

Helen has a Masters degree and is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development.

Helen has been a supporter of local football for the past forty years and recalls serving bovril and tea at two old pennies a cup back in the 1960's!

HEAD COACH | DANNY NICHOLLS

 

Danny has previously managed Hemel Hempstead Town Football Club in the Southern Premier League. In recent years he has also coached at Northampton Town and Kettering Town and as a player played at semi-pro level for Bedford Town and Marlow. Danny holds the UEFA 'A' licence. In addition to this he is a Level One Educator, First Aider and has completed the Child Protection Course and CRB check.

ACADEMY COACH | RICHARD SCOTT

 

Richard began his playing career at Birmingham City before spells at numerous clubs including Peterborough United, Shrewsbury Town and Stevenage Borough amongst others. Since his playing days Richard has gained his UEFA 'B' Coaching Badge along with the FA's SAQ Certificate, First Aid and CRB. He has run soccer schools for several years now.

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH | DANIEL CAINES

 

Daniel is a highly-accomplished professional athlete with an extensive background in athletic competition. Daniel’s personal background is an impressive one as he is best known as Great Britains top athlete at 400-metre distance. He is a World, Commonwealth, European & Europe Cup Champion at the 400m and 4 x 400m, World Silver and Bronze Medalist, European Bronze Medalist, two time-Olympian, and three-time National Champion.

Daniel comes from a family with a fine sporting pedigree, his mother and father were both track athletes in the 1970’s and two of his uncles were professional footballers (Gary Thompson and Keith Thompson.)

Daniel studied law at Swansea University and is current President and Founder of Caines World Fitness whose customized fitness programs are tailored and designed to meet unique personal and team goals. Daniel works with the academy players to improve their strength, speed and agility.

GOALKEEPING COACH | COLIN BARNES

 

Colin began his football career as an apprentice at Leyton Orient before playing in Goal for various non-league clubs in the Southern League and Ryman League. During this time he embarked on obtaining his coaching qualifications and currently holds the UEFA A Licence, FA Goalkeeping A Licence, FA Youth Coaches Award 12 - 16 and the Academy Managers Licence Award. Colin is also an FA Level 2 Coach Educator and FA Level 2 Tutor for Goalkeeping Courses.

After an extensive playing career, Colin moved onto management and for 14 years plied his trade in the Southern League. Following this, Colin had a brief stay as Chief Scout, at then Football Conference side Slough Town, before moving into the professional game as a Development Centre Manager at Millwall FC. This followed spells as Academy Goalkeeping Coach at Wimbledon and Youth Development Officer at both Watford and Wycombe Wanderers. Colin currently works as a Goalkeeping Coach for Football League Championship Club Reading and Division one side Brentford.

SENIOR PHYSIOTHERAPIST | DENIS CASEY NCSP

 

Denis brings a wealth of experience to the academy medical team following 23 years as head physiotherapist in professional football for Northampton Town FC. Denis is a chartered physiotherapist and is registered with the Health Professions Council. He also holds the Child Protection Certificate and CRB.

PHYSIOTHERAPIST | YVETTE WALTER

 

Yvette joined the Academy in the Summer of 2009 having previously worked as a Sports Development Officer for two years and then, following the completion of aYouth Work Degree, became the Manager and Senior Youth worker for two Youth and Community centres. Yvette subsequently spent five years working as a Youth Worker in an outdoor educational environment with school groups, disaffected youth and also with the prison service and for the last two years has worked for Social Services with children in care.

Amongst all this Yvette has completed her FA Treatment of Injuries Certificate, holds a First Aid certificate and CRB check. She worked for a local London club last season and has a great passion for the game.

PHYSIOTHERAPIST | CHRIS PALMER

 

A qualified Sports Therapist and Sports Masseur, having trained at the 'Medical Centre of Excellence' at Lilleshall before going on to gain a degree in 'Sports Therapist' at Salford University. He has worked in the sports injury/rehabilitation departments at a number of both professional and semi professional football clubs, such as Cambridge City, Luton Town, Norwich City, Kettering Town, Rushden & Diamonds and Spalding United.

Chris is also a qualified football coach, currently undertaking his UEFA 'B' licence coaching badge.

RESIDENTIAL MANAGER | ANN DYTE

 

Ann joined the academy in the summer of 2009 and has been involved with sport for most her life having played County Netball and was Captain of Northants Ladies & Girls Tennis Squads.

Football has always been a major part of Ann and her family’s life and supports Chelsea!

The past 20 years she has worked within the Criminal Justice system as Manager of the Enforcement team, trained as a Drug & Alcohol Abuse counsellor for CAN, and been Chairman of the Youth Offending team Panels. Ann also has an accounting background having been the Treasurer of a National Trade Union (PCS) and holds a full CRB check and has worked with young people for most of her adult life.

RESIDENTIAL HEAD WARDEN | LIAM NORTON

 

Liam joined the company in November 2007 having worked at a national children's camp and activity company. Liam has also completed the FA's Child Protection workshop, the FA's Criminal Record Bureau, The FA Junior Team Manager's Certificate and Emergency Aid.

RESIDENTIAL WARDEN | MICK DYTE

 

Mick has worked for the academy at the residential lodge since 2008 and also runs his own driving school practice.

Mick played for Rushden and was both a player and manager of Wellingborough Town at Southern League level and supports Blackpool!

RESIDENTIAL WARDEN | LYNN COWLEY

 

Lynn has worked in education for over twenty years and also houses some of the Rushden & Diamonds First Team players.

Lynn has undertaken numerous courses in child development, has a City & Guilds in Communication, is a qualified first aider and also has the BACIN in ‘Managing challenging behavior in schools’.

Lynn has been working for the Academy at weekends since it opened in 2007 and has now added the ‘Food Health and Hygiene’ and ‘Child Protection’ Certificates to her long list of qualifications and also holds a CRB check.

RESIDENTIAL WARDEN | PHIL NORTON

 

Phil has been with the Academy from the start and is often the member of staff who takes the weekend players out on excursions to football matches, cinema etc.

Phil has a wealth of driving experience through his full-time job and has completed the Child Protection Course and CRB check.

RESIDENTIAL WARDEN | JENNIFER JOHNSTONE

 

Jennifer has worked for the Academy since 2007 and currently also works for a local school.

Jennifer holds a NVQ Level 3 in ‘Supporting Learning in Schools’, BSL in Sign Language Level 1, CRB Check, NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service, BACIN in ‘Managing challenging behavior in schools’ and also has one year’s experience in running ‘Talking with Hands Deaf Youth Club’.
